During our visit to Florence, Residenza d’Epoca was a charming place to stay in a fabulous location.
Our room, “Botticelli,” overlooked Piazza Della Signoria and looking down the tiny street at the front of the house, we viewed the dome of Florence’s famous Cathedra—Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore.
The ten bedroom house, from the end of the fourteenth century, is owned and operated by Alessandro and Sonia Pini, who purchased the property in 2000. The Pinis have lovingly restored it in such a way that anyone who stays here will fall in love with the property and never want to leave.
Breakfast at the house is not to be missed under any circumstances. Comprised of; wonderful pastries and breads; fresh-squeezed blood orange juice, fresh fruit; meats and cheeses, eggs and bacon made to order, and cappuccino that goes on our list of “one of the best.” Service is impeccable from the friendly and helpful people who run and make a living at this bed and breakfast.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and provide peace and quiet in a lovely surrounding, with top-notch in-room amenities.
Within five to ten minutes walk, we visited the Duomo, in the opposite direction came upon the Ponte Vecchio, and a twenty minute walk took us to the main train station. Amazing architecture and historical sights are all around the immediate area of Piazza Della Signoria and the bed and breakfast, as well as endless restaurants, cafes, gelaterias, museums, galleries, etc.
Prices from 160 euro per night, including breakfast.
