What is CACRAO?  The acronym for the Carolina’s Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

Each year at the conference a nonprofit, charitable organization is recognized. This year was times, New Hanover County Toys for Tots Coordinator, Michael Gautier. Mr. Gautier was able to place the USMC Foundation cardboard toy collection boxes in the lobby at the host venue, the Riverside Hilton Hotel. Each box was filled to the brim by CACRAO Conference attendees. He briefly spoke about the organization; present his inviter, Mr. Dean Heath, Student Recruiter for Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) with Toys for Tots pin, Toys for Tots Challenge Coin and a certificate of appreciation for the organization as well.

The December 4-7, 2011 CACRAO Speaker was Mr. Jeff Kallay.  He the Vice President of Consulting (a.k.a. "Apostle of Authenticity") at TargetX. He is also a popular speaker at national admissions and higher education marketing conferences, publishes a popular blog, and his groundbreaking campus visit consulting work has been featured frequently in the media, including: the cover of the Chronicle of Higher Education, National Section of the New York Times, University Business, US News & World Report, Washington Post and other outlets.

The weekend event was comprised of break out seminars at the Hilton conference rooms, with a variety of topics and presenters. Professional networking and like minded vendors on hand too. A sumptuous lunch was served, topped off by a magnificent cake from the *CFCC Culinary School students.  **Just one of the many programs that CFCC has to offer. Any qualifying student is welcome to apply. Whether they reside in the Cape Fear area or from out of state.
