I've been honored and blessed to be raised by parents who taught me values.  Although they had money they never handed it out.  Wash a dog or two and get $5 dollars for the movies.  My parents have always taught us to get involved not just write a check.  The Gift of Life is an organization my father has chosen to travel the world, speak on their behalf and in fact sits in on a number of the surgeries to bring heart operations to the neediest of children.  The day I saw my mom on IM texting a Lieutenant in Afghanistan, I knew I had more to learn about involvement in my philanthropic activities.  My family, my businesses, and I am proud to say my employees have been a part of changing many children's lives around the world and at home.  The Gift of Life has done amazing things for children with life threatening heart failure.  They began in 1975 as part of the Rotary Club of NY and now operate through the support and relentless efforts of local Rotarians and have made a huge difference in the lives of over 8,000 children.

I fully endorse this organization and its efforts to help the needy regardless of politics, war, religion and financial status.  There have been many organizations that we have come to question their efforts and distribution of funds over the years and more so since Sept. 11th.  I can honestly say the Gift of Life is a special organization.

Should you choose to become involved in a global or international organization, I would seriously consider Gift of Life.  All of its leaders are involved, not just spokespeople, but on the ground, in the process of mobilizing and involved in the care of each of these children.  To find out more go to Gift of Life International.
