1) End Foreign Aid
2) Good Governance
3) Genetically Modified Food Production
4) Compulsory education worldwide
5) Human Rights/Gender Equality
6) Actions
Foreign Aid facilitates oppression. It should be apparent by now that Foreign Aid is misused and served as a tool to sustain poverty. Foreign Aid to repressive and unresponsive government sustains poverty and hurts the very group that it intends to aid. End it.
People are hungry because they’re poor and the majority of the poor are so because of corruption and the harmful economic system imposed upon them by ”governments” and collaborators that take them hostage, dictate their lives and benefit from their miseries.
In regions that prove difficult to cultivate food, Genetically Modified Food Production can help grow adequate food supply. GMFP, in addition, would facilitate trades and economic opportunities, reduce dependency and reduce poverty.
According to the world Food Program, “more than one billion people” are hungry. Not surprisingly, the majority of the hungry live in the South Asia and in Sub Sahara Africa and in countries known for repressive and unresponsive governments. Poverty continues because no one is accountable for the weak institutions, civil strifes, infanticide, gender-based violence and gender discriminations that are directly contribute and sustain poverty.
Corruption is synonymous with poverty. Corruption is the worst of all evils and fighting corruption is essential to preventing, reducing and eradicating poverty. No amount of Foreign aid can replace what Good Governance and transparency will do. As malign as it may sound, Foreign Aid only reinforces the circle.
The world talks, conducts studies and conferences so much about alleviating poverty while more people fall into utter poverty; it’s time to act. If you’re not yet convinced then, perhaps, knowing that “10.9 million children under five die in developing countries each year. Malnutrition and hunger-related diseases cause 60 percent of the deaths”
