Ok, going to go on an overdue vent here, much to the benefit of most of America. Why is it that we are so obsessed with empty entertainment!? We are constantly surrounded by awful, un-talented, “going nowhere” reality shows, hook-up movies, a plethora of music without message, and women’s magazines with titles such as ‘how to have orgasms while at work’, right on the front cover! We are literally slaves of our environment. Our eyes, our ears, and our intellect have been taken over with force (think German occupation of France in 1940 … yeah, that bad) by Hollywood puppeteers. We no longer have a choice as to what our bodies “ingest”, if you will. So, this rant of mine was inspired by a song recently released to the public for our listening (and assumed) pleasure entitled “Stupid (insert gardening tool of your choice here, and be creative while you’re at it)”. Now, if you’ve seen the video, then we’re already on the same page. If not, jump over to YouTube and educate yourself! The singer is a young, pretty black female, famous for her lyrics and flamboyant Rainbow Bright/Barbie inspired wardrobe. *Sigh* I’m sorry, but this is an embarrassment to women and (yes, I’m going to say it) blacks who have fought so hard to be taken seriously in society only for the future to spit out this piece of crap and call it “art”? Forgive me but isn’t “art” something that is universally admired and appreciated because we can relate to it? Art is to be shared and gifted and taught by others. What can we share/teach/relate to in this song/video? The parts where she talks about pissing on you and sucking a diz-nick? Or dressing like a plastic doll, grabbing her crotch and licking her lips? I’m sorry, but I don’t look nor sound like that. Do you? Do your daughters? Do your mothers? Your friends? Okay, some of your friends, but you maintain a safe distance. Do young black girls look at her and think that having unrealistically straight, blonde hair while grinding on some random dudes lap is expected of them?
Let me just say that Blacks in this country have struggled long and hard to obtain and therefore retain their own identity and reputation of which they really are, which is not colored, not dumb, and not good for domestic services only, but an intelligent, hard working, dedicated and respectful class of people. And here comes this twit with her disrespectful tongue, vulgar appearance and useless imagery. She has taken a generational step backwards for her own people and really, for people of all walks of life who are forced to view her crap. What about the women who marched and picketed and screamed and cried to be treated equally within their own government? These women of our past have tried for decades to prove to the world how classy, how driven, and how valuable we are. Again, the twit has taken all of their hard work and reduced it to nothing. Yes, I am making this a race issue and yes, I am making this a sex issue. She is black and she is a woman and therefore, she represents women and represents blacks. Look at the feminist movement, for instance, and how it strived to prove that women aren’t sex objects and can be everything a man can be and what do we do? Act like hounds in heat and sell sex in an act of, what, liberation? Puh-leeze! What an oxy-moronic society of drones we have become! Where are all those “fems” out there to protest about this blatant disrespect for woman that they worked so tirelessly to destroy?! Look, I’m no prude. I’m young, single, I like to have fun, I like to drink, party, be sexy, feel sexy and flirt and I might even like sex! But let’s be real. There is a fine line between what should be private vs. public. It’s one thing to do something behind closed doors, it’s another to shove it in ones face before they have a chance to even decide whether they wanted to see it or not. We can’t drive down the street without seeing a billboard with two guys making out in their CK jeans. Or a commercial for movies like
