Treading Water

Today is a day I feel like I’m merely treading water with my debt load. I paid the minimum payments on the cards that are due within the first week of the month, and it was close to eight hundred dollars, just to get through another month. I know I’m headed in the right direction, especially after I made the big payment last week, but it’s just a little disheartening to see the percentage paid off ticker on my software app tick up only 1 percent after arranging for such a large amount to be deducted from my checking account. My mortgage ticks up faster than that, and I KNOW I’m paying 80 percent of each monthly mortgage payment to interest.

I’m just venting to make a little more room in my chest for breathing. Breathing is what will get me through this. That, and maybe if I just cut up all the credit cards instead of freezing them. Although I’m kind of liking the little ice sculpture I’ve got in my freezer right now. I’ll post a photo later.
