Christianity is about giving glory to God. Why? Well, God gave his Son, Jesus, to die for us. And, not only did he give us eternal life with God(without sin), he showed how to treat others. Jesus told us to show love to one another and encourage and treat others the way we would want to be treated. In life, God gives us times when everything seems like it is going wrong. It seems like He left us. It is like we cannot even feel God's presence. And we forget that He really is there. We forget to show people Christ's love and kindness. We forget that it is not all about all the things in the world being good for you. And, we forget that God will NEVER give us a situation that we(us,God,Holy Spirit, and Jesus) cannot do. With God all things are possible. For by the Grace of God, we can live in a way that fully pleases him. So, I believe that everything EVERYTHING you do should be to give the Father of Heaven, The Glorious, Amazing, Holy, Awesome God glory.

I have someone looking out for me. Even though I can't pysically see this person I have access to him through a book; the Bible. This book tells you everything you could possibly want to know, even that you will never know all that is to know. This book tells you about the Holy Spirit who will tell you even more things that are specific to you as an individual. However, many things are exclusive. Everyone is invited, everyone is encouraged, everyone is accepted, but not everyone gets it. Jesus asks for us to look for him, to seek him out, to want to know him. And it is then that mysteries are unfolded and laid out before us. In contrast to that the Spirit is always wooing us to come and welcomes us to enter into relationship exactly where we are at any time, any place, any situation for the rest of our lives. Christianity is continuous love.

i have a unique concept of faith and religion. i grew up in rural kkcommunity. married a palestinan moslem well to do americanized family in kuwait.lived in mideast for years & my marrage-18yrs still not divorced.i came to believe is my upbringing im greatfull for. its what is lacking in todays society. i was taught early on that god was everywhere, everything. in everyting we do always to give thanks&praise. appreciated rosery for its true concept. the biggest hurts to lifestyle are poor practices and teachings of cleargy & parents were given.find &enjoy yourself.my catholic faith is most defining in my soul.teachings are truly biblicaly oriented. most important rules are guidelines to protect me from myself and my own self distruction thus demolition of family and socity.i enjoy everyting naughty&nice within respet to myself & others. we are not perfect just forgiven.the blossoming of oneness is the ultimateO. its more intense than in the now. it will also be in the 50yrs from now.
To me being a Christian means having a personal relationship with God. I know that sounds trite, but its true. Its not a religion or something I have to follow, I am the way I am because I love God. It doesn't mean I'm perfect either. I still get angry, think or say things I shouldn't, etc. I also try and show others that they can have this as well. It isn't easy because there are a lot of misconceptions out there about Christianity. The book "He Loves Me" by Wayne Jacobson is the best way that I can think to explain it. You can find it at the library. I don't have to be perfect or pristine or never have done anything wrong, because that certainly isn't me, but God still loves me. I just have to accept that Jesus died for me and that he would have done it if I had been the only person alive. Little by little, as I have learned to accept that, His love has changed me from the mean, angry person I was to what I am now. And yes, I have friends who aren't Christians.

Religion of all forms is full of it. No matter what your religion is, who you pray to, or what type of text you read from, no icon of faith is going to help you. Good and bad things happen because of people. If a child is saved from a burning building, the mother embraces that child and thanks god over and over again. She gives no recognition to the fireman for doing his job, nor to the five gang members who originally started the fire. God doesn't save you from cancer, he doesn't help you win the lottery, and he's not going to turn your gay son straight...Dad. Which brings up another topic of why christianity hates homosexuals. They don't force their way of life on you, like christianity, they don't judge straight people for being different, they just want to live peacefully and happy, that's why they're called gay. If you think that the bible is the word of your lord, and all its contents are truth, then I believe Tom Sawyer's my lord and we should all ditch school and swim.

I think Christianity has a bad name. It sits by and prays instead of taking social action like the Catholics who practice Liberation Theology in Latin America to battle the rich landlords who lord it over the poor with the support of the miltary. Give me that kind of Christianity, something with a social conscience not the pablum that is being fed to the masses in America in their attempt to shrink our wallets!

I am by denomination a Roman Catholic, and practice at my local church. But being a Christian is more to me about faith, and believing in what I see and can't see. I find great comfort in faith, that there is something greater out there. There are many things that I don't see eye to eye w/ in the Catholic Church, but I don't think that diminishes my ability to be a good Christian. Good and bad things happen in the world, but people can CHOOSE to make good and bad things happen also, and I do my best to choose the good. I feel strongly that God helps me down my path but he does not choose my direction, I do, and I use my faith to help me make those decisions. I cannot choose the path of some one else. It their path crosses mine I hope it is a good experience, and if it isn't, I have no control over that, I put the situation in God's hands, and what will be will be.

I'm not an overly zealous Catholic but I am a Christian and I cherish my religion because in it I found inner peace and I find myself in the silence of the church because when I pray I feel that I find a calmness that I could only find when I'm in God's holy presence. I know media says a lot of things about the leaders of the church and they probably have made a lot of mistakes but they have paid their dues. But its not all about the church leaders but rather religion is about us how we are all united through that one belief that we have and that is God and God is love. When we all pray and ask for divine assistance or we surrender ourselves to a greater master it is because we know that we are only human and sometimes we get tired of carrying the burden alone. Knowing that we could always find someone to help us carry our burdens is like a consolation for us because we know that we're not alone. I view Christ as my friend who shared my burden. I love God for he has been there for me.

Being a Christian means to me that I have an example in jesus Christ and a way of life outlined in scripture. Those things bring me closer to the spirit and enable me to be in closer harmony with Heaven and Earth. I am highly into being spiritual and feeling God's will and understanding by his point of view. just because a church teaches a certain thing doesn't make it true and just because SOME Christians do wrong things doesn't mean that being a Christian is wrong. You can experience God's truth and understand God's ways and thus have a spiritual life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and wonderful. I have tried life without Christianity and with it. I definitely ly prefer "with it" I too have studied all kinds of world religions and although I respect them all, I am committed to Christianity.
If anything I previously wrote offended anyone or there beliefs, I sincerly apologize. Whether you talk of religion, relationship, etc. These all come down to one thing.Personal beliefs. And thats what they should stay, personal.
There are lots of lost people in the world. People that are on the wrong path. Not by my standards, or even anyone else's standards. But by there own. Those people need a little guidence, to see what needs corrected in there lives. For some it only takes a knudge, and others, it takes hitting rock bottom.I was one of those people. And it took the latter for me to see light. We all need a belief of some kind. It's what keeps us going. You must first love yourself, before you can truly love. You must first trust yourself, before you can trust another.God (of your choice) is not there to answer your prayers. He is there, to help you answer your own prayers.
The words of Jesus are very wise.
And they were just as wise, 400 years before his birth.
When Buddha said them.
