My toddler is my food choice motivator - he wants whatever I have to drink or eat, so I drink water or skim milk and I choose a healthy protein with veggies so that he'll eat healthy too - I want to be a good role model and he really motivates me to do it!

My biggest staples that help in my daily diet are protein and fiber to give me energy and to control my appetite. I use a protein shake or protein bar for breakfast. It is fast and convenient. I always take one of each with me for the day - if hungry midday or mid afternoon, use half. Can't stop for a healthy lunch? Use a whole one. Trick is having it available. Find a flavor(s) that you really like. There are so many out there like Slim Fast, Muscle Milk, Lean Shake, Atkins, etc. Most have 9-25 grams of protein per serving and 5-10 grams of fiber per serving. Keep a piece of favorite fruit and veggies with you too. I even use a protein drink before going to a very big event, late dinner, or when I know there will be a lot of tempting foods......this is how I have stayed on track for the past 13 years........at 53 years years old, I am in the best shape of my life and found a way to stop the yo- yo of that 10 lbs that I fought previously, and walk 30 min to 1 hr everyday.

I only order water to drink and I ask for a box as soon as my order is placed. When the food arrives I box up half of my food immediately.
