2010 was an incredible year for me. I was married on 10/10/10 to my husband and a month and a half later found out I was pregnant with our first child. With all of the great experiences I have had all year the best one of all was a couple of weeks ago when I was filled with joy while on a walk through town on a sunny day just after a big snow storm. A few blocks into the walk, I noticed a little girl climbing to the top of a snowdrift. When she saw me look over and smile she exclaimed proudly "Look at us climbing to the top of this big snow mountain!" Her comment was very simple but for some reason one of the most heart warming things I've heard in quite a while!

When my son was 5 we were going to take him fishing the next day. To get ready we had to go out and get some night crawlers, on our way I looked down at my boy there with a big smile on his face and asked him why he was smiling, his reply "My heart is just so happy, mom" That is one of my favorite memories of him. He died in 2000 and these are the memories that I hope that I never lose.

My best memory from the past year was getting married to the love of my life!

We dubbed Christmas 2009 in Iowa 'snowmaggedon'. Several feet of the white stuff dumped on us and we enjoyed every moment of the day. We spent the holiday with some very dear friends - all the kids were home. We lounged all day, sometimes playing games, sometimes napping. We enjoyed an amazing meal together, several bottles of wine, and best of all each other. One of the favorite mometns for everyone is when adults and kids went out into the piles of snow and created a fort. We made a movie of all the snow coming down and everyone playing in it. Then everyone came inside and the lounging, and game playing commenced again. What a treasured holiday memory!

My best memory this year is from the summer and the hot weather we had by me over the summer. I absolutely love hot weather and I appreciated it so much especially after some of the weather we had in my area last winter. I will never forget how great I felt on those days since as I said I love warm weather so much. So that was definitely my best memory from this past year.

Well my very first memory of 2010 was on January 1st we moved into a new house going from the city to the country. We get here, mind you the middle of winter and a bad snow storm coming down as we are driving an hour to our new house. And we get the Uhaul stuck in the front yard. So now we have a full Uhaul, and no lights outside to see anything. We go inside the house to find out the heat does not work and we have no porch light or living room light whatsoever. OMG what do we do? We grabbed a flashlight thankfully in my glove box and dug through the Uhaul to find our blankets and grabbed a few mattresses for our beds. We pilled it all up in the living room with 2 adults and 5 kids and thankfully a fireplace we slept in the living room that night so we could all stay warm. Next day we got the Uhaul unstuck, unloaded and stuck again. It was a disaster. Thankfully that is over now and a New Year is ahead. Happy New Year to you all.

This Christmas was very difficult with family being separated and economic difficulties. My niece came over with her mom the day after Christmas and she went into my bedroom to discover that I have Disney globes of some of the princesses. I placed them on my bed for her to enjoy. Well she is short and I didn't realize that she couldn't get up on the bed easily but she was determined to do so by herself. So what she did was leap at the foot of the bed but ended up on the floor! She literally bounced off of the mattress! She began to laugh and I laughed, it was the best laugh that I had in a while and her joy was finally climbing up and sitting with me while I turned each globe on and let her hear the music. She created such a wonderful time with me and for me that I can smile even now thinking about her and the time we spent together.

When my kids baked me a birthday cake all by themselves!
My youngest daughter , when she was born, and their daddy was with me in there with me, and held my hand to squeeze. while I pushed, and pushed and she was born. We were so very happy, and now she is a very sweet girl of 11 like her oldest sister. I wish their dad was here right now; he past away in August.
